They had a Joomla website with limited functionality, and separate to that a bbPress forum with 10+ years worth of posts. The purpose of this project was to consolidate the website, forum and membership under one platform, update the user experience and transform the front-end to coincide with the club’s new logo and kit launch.
After re-designing the website, we imported the membership into WordPress and used MemberPress to manage sign-ups and renewals going forward. We also set up WooCommerce and The Events Calendar which allowed members to purchase club merchandise and tickets to events. We then created a Discourse forum and imported all the historic posts from bbPress.
Members can now access the website and forum using a single sign-on and access to content can be restricted based on the membership type.
Deku brought solutions to the inevitable challenges that cropped up along the way, and went the extra mile to keep the many stakeholders in our club happy. We are still working together on the on-going system maintenance and the guys are very responsive to our many requests. It’s fair to say that the new website and forum has had a massive impact on the club, and helped not only bring our design up to date and automate many processes, but also facilitate a much more active community. Very professional and nice guys to work with.
